When we think of cities, we often imagine busy streets, tall buildings, and air pollution. But now, many cities are trying to be greener and cleaner. A green city uses smart ideas to help the environment and raise the quality of life. This means people benefit greatly from more green spaces, better public transport and cleaner energy.

Barcelona is a good example. Since 1859, it has worked on green designs. In 1992, before the Olympic Games, the city improved a lot. Now, many people use buses and trains, and there are many recycling bins around the city.

Portland, in the USA, is also a green city. Since 1903, it has made parks and long walking and bike paths. People can even choose clean energy like solar or wind for a small extra cost.

More cities around the world are becoming green. This trend is growing and helping the planet.
